Recycling in Leicester has changed…
From the week of the 17th October 2011, all houses and flats which used a green box or green bag for their recycling, moved to the new orange bag recycling service.
All other properties including flats with communal recycling bins, will be contacted after October to let them know about the bespoke recycling service for their property including a start date. Until contacted please continue to use your current facilities.
The new orange bags give you the opportunity to recycle a far greater range of materials including cardboard, plastic packaging, tetra paks, tins and cans and aerosols. The new service will help the city increase its recycling rate and so reduce the amount of waste going to landfill.
Residents should have received an introductory information pack about how the new service will work with their first roll of orange bags.
