Wheeled bins are issued to residents for waste collection and remain the property of Leicester City Council. The standard size of a wheeled bin for non-recyclable waste is 140 litres. Please remember to separate all your recyclables through our recycling scheme.
Missing Bins
If your bin is missing after collection, complete our online form. After receipt, your missing bin will be replaced within five working days.
Unemptied Bins
If your rubbish bin or recycling container is not emptied on the scheduled day, please contact us. After receipt of the complaint we will arrange for collection of your unemptied bin either later the same day or on the next working day.
Larger bin request
Requests for a larger bin will only be considered on an individual basis. To request more information about this service, complete our online form.

Bins on street
Bins left out on streets are unsightly and cause obstructions as well as being an arson risk. It is the resident's responsibility to ensure they are taken off the streets after collection.
If your bin is on the street on non-collection days you could be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of £110. For further advice call the City Wardens on 0116 252 7001.
