To view the Unemployment Bulletins, go to the Leicestershire Statistics and Research (LSR) Online web site.
The monthly Unemployment Bulletin published by Leicestershire County Council provides details of the latest unemployment and benefit data for Leicester and Leicestershire.
The data is sourced from Nomis (http://www.nomisweb.co.uk/) which contains data from the Office for National Statistics, the Department of Work and Pensions and other official sources.
Some figures are calculated by Leicestershire County Council and where this is the case it is stated in the source.
There are a number of ways of measuring unemployment and these bulletins mainly focus on the Claimant Count which is a measure of the number or proportion of people receiving Job Seekers Allowance (JSA) and National Insurance Credits at Jobcentre Plus local offices. This is not an official measure of unemployment but it is the only indicative statistic available for areas smaller than Local Authorities.
