The city council's accounts are available for inspection during the two weeks prior to audit each year. This is normally in July - dates are announced in the local press.
NOTICE is given that from Monday 18 July 2011 to Friday 12 August 2011 inclusive, between 9am and 4.00pm any person interested may inspect, and make copies of, the accounts of the above named council for the year ended 31 March 2011, and all books deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto.
This is in accordance with Audit Commission Act 1998 (Sections 15 and 16) and Accounts and Audit Regulations 2003 (Regs 14 and 16).
The accounts and other documents will be available for inspection at the offices at which they are normally kept, or otherwise by arrangement. Application should be made initially to Financial Services, New Walk Centre, Welford Place, Leicester, LE1 6ZG or by calling 0116 252 7421.
The auditor of the accounts is Mr A Benselin, and he may be contacted at Sovereign House, Princess Road West, Leicester.
In accordance with the provisions of sections 15 and 16 of the Audit Commission Act, an elector or a representative may question the auditor about the accounts on or after August 15th, 2011. An elector who wishes to object to the accounts must inform the auditor in writing of the proposed objection and of the grounds on which it is to be made.
