One of our 100 Days Programme tasks was to publish job descriptions for the City Mayor, Deputy City Mayor, Assistant Mayor and Councillors. These can all be downloaded below.
Why we've done this
We want the public to understand what they can expect of their elected politicians, and the standards by which they should be held to account and judged.
These job descriptions (along with the one for the Chair of Overview & Scrutiny Committee and Scrutiny Commission/s) were developed with input from various stakeholders.
We’ve been talking to the
City Mayor, the Deputy City Mayor, and relevant senior council officers to understand these different roles.
Presently, the draft job descriptions reflect our understanding of the roles and were endorsed by the City Mayor and his team.
Works in progress
The job descriptions remain works in progress and we previously requested your comments and feedback by 27th September 2011.
To help us finalise these documents, we asked if:
- they accurately described the roles?
- there was anything missing?
- there was anything about the roles you didn't quite understand?
What's happening now?
We're currently reviewing all the feedback and, if necessary, will
update the job descriptions soon.
