Post Fieldwork Feedback

JAR fieldwork
The fieldwork and evidence collection phase of the Joint Area Review Inspection finished on 8 February when the JAR and CA inspection teams left after 2 weeks in Leicester.

The inspection team said they enjoyed their time in Leicester and passed on their thanks to everyone involved in order to acknowledge all the hard work and effort.  They really appreciated the warm welcome and everyone’s openness and willingness to make themselves available, sometimes at short notice.  They really enjoyed the visits they went on and the opportunity to talk to colleagues and children and young people and their parents and carers in Leicester.  They were also impressed with the enthusiasm and commitment shown throughout the inspection.

What happened next?... The Final JAR Report and Action Plan
The inspection team wrote up all their evidence, graded each area of their investigations, and provided a draft report to the Local Authority on 31 March.  The Authority had 10 days to comment on this.  During this time, Tony Dewhurst, the Lead Inspector, revisited Leicester briefly in early April to meet with the Local Authority and partners to discuss the draft report.  A pre-publication report was sent to the Local Authority and any amendments made before the end of May.

The Final JAR Report features 16 recommendations for action and was published on 3rd June - Click here to open a copy

The City Council was required to submit a response to these recommendations in the form of a post JAR Action Plan. Key partners and stakeholders have been involved in developing the action plan  - Click here to open a copy
