Pasta King one of City Caterings foodservice providers are working in partnership with the Wallace & Gromit Foundation. The Foundation is a UK wide charity championing the cause of sick children by raising funds to improve their quality of life in hospitals and hospices throughout the UK.
Pasta King donate £1 from every case of pasta sauce sold. The primary schools that participated all received stickers for the pupils and biscuit cutters to make Wallace & Gromit biscuits.
Most primary school pupils in City schools were served Wallace & Gromit pasta shapes with a Chicken Italiano sauce or a Vegetable Basilico sauce with selected vegetables or salad for lunch, pudding was an iced shortbread biscuit in the shape of Walllace or Gromit. The pupils loved the biscuits!
City Catering served approx. 16,000 Wallace & Gromit themed school dinners on Friday 3rd February.
Donna and her team moved out of the kitchen in May last year as a major refurbishment took place, the kitchen and dining room were transformed. During this time the school dinner was cooked at another school, Donna and her team returned in October to a new kitchen and dining room, the new dining room is brighter, more colourful and warmer than the old one, Donna and her team now serve 70 plus more school dinners on a daily basis.
