The views and experiences of children and young people should always be at the heart of children’s services. In line with the Education and Inspections Act 2006, Ofsted and Leicester City Council are keen to ensure that first-hand views of children and young people, as users of services, are taken into account in service planning, delivery and inspection.
The Tellus web-based questionnaire is the means by which the early perceptions of children and young people will be collected about what it is like to live in an area. The Tellus survey has been developed jointly by Ofsted, DCSF and MORI and it will provide reliable data which is representative of the area, and will allow comparison with national statistics.
