Carbon Awareness and Active Communities
Moving to Low Carbon Solutions in Schools

Carbon Awareness and Active Communities

It is extremely important to us all that we ensure our schools and those people designing our schools are fully engaged in raising awareness about climate change and the impact of energy consumption.

We need to encourage schools to adopt a whole school approach towards energy reduction, engaging with every member of the school to deeply embed a culture of energy reduction, with clear leadership from head teachers, governors and other key decision makers.

Carbon Detectives Kit

Learn about the impacts of climate change. Reduce the carbon footprint of your school using this toolkit.

If It Were My Home

A great website which allows you to compare your life with those lived in other countries. For example you can discover how much electricity you would use if you lived in another country, your life expectancy, you can even compare the size of other countries to the UK.

Children’s Statement on Climate Change

Get your students thinking about what they can do to make a difference and what worries them the most about climate change.
