Building developments alone are not enough to transform teaching. The key to transformation is to expand the imagination of existing and new staff to make the most of the new and upgraded buildings. Through a programme of planned consultations with school communities and strategic partners, the City Council is working with schools to make sure that the education aspirations set out in their Strategies for Change and Education Design Briefs become a reality.
Learning Services staff are working with schools to plan a programme of Continuous Professional Development CPD that will assist the delivery of the Raising Achievement Plan. The aim will be to ensure that school staff, and young people particularly derive the maximum possible benefit from the funding that is available through BSF.
