Delivery of the 13-19 entitlement

The 13-19 year old entitlement for Leicester’s students is about improving their range of subject and course choices The infrastructure for managing a collaborative curriculum between schools and other education providers is well developed.  A key development in the management structures has been the formation of an Education Improvement Partnership (EIP), it includes all the city secondary schools and special schools. The EIP will be the major focus for planning and service delivery in the secondary schools. Substantial strides have been made by a Careers Information and Advice Group (CIAG) in producing an Area Wide Prospectus. The Area Wide Prospectus will be accessible through the Managed Learning Environment (MLE), the ICT backbone for the city’s schools.  The City Learning Centres provide additional ICT resource to support this agenda, and to support the new range of Diploma courses.  Courses of study for 16+ are being managed by the Tertiary Federation.
