The Managed Learning Environment is the ICT system that helps parents get more involved in their children’s education by providing on-line access to information such as attendance, attainment, timetable, homework and vending balance. You can access this from home, at work, at an internet café or anywhere you can get access to the internet – so you can keep up to date with progress. This allows you to get more involved with your child’s education and not have to wait until a parent teacher meeting to discover that your child is struggling with a subject, or is doing really well.
Keeping your children safe
Each learner will have a smart card which is used for gaining access to schools, e-registration and for cashless catering. This means children don’t have to bring money into school. The e-registration system ensures that the school is quickly aware if your child is not in school – and alerts you by text, email or phone.
Lifelong learning
You can access learning resources on-line and learn alongside your children. As schools become an integral part of the community, ICT resources in school can be used to support lifelong learning for parents and the local community.
