Soar Valley College is an 11-16 community comprehensive college in the city of Leicester. There are 1280 students on roll, students come from diverse ethnic, cultural and religious backgrounds, which contributes to the school’s unique ethos.
Specialism
In 2004 the College was designated as a specialist Maths and Computing College, which led to significant investment in ICT resources across the college. A large part of their Specialist College Plan is concerned with links with the community, vital to the ethos of Soar Valley with developments centred round family learning projects and primary liaison. The school also has a wide range of activities on site in the evenings and at weekends that benefit the wider community.

Current Status
Soar Valley is one of the first four establishments to be rebuilt under the BSF programme. The college’s new build opened in June 2009 offering excellent accommodation and facilities for all areas of the curriculum.
Their facilities include a floodlit all weather pitch, floodlit netball/tennis courts, covered netball courts in our netball centre, indoor sports hall, air conditioned dance studio, auditorium with stage area for performances, conference and meeting room. In Spring 2011 they opened a brand new cricket bowl.
