Welcome to Meeting Individual Needs website. The information here provides guidance for City schools and services to children and parents, to support the LA's Special Educational Needs policy agreed in December 2000.
It describes practices and protocols which will assist schools and governing bodies in fulfilling responsibilities placed on them by the DfES revised Special Educational Needs Code of Practice 2001. This guidance has been produced by a working group of Headteachers, SENCos, Officers, parents’ representatives and colleagues from Health and Social Services. It has been commented upon and revised in the light of further contributions from city SENCos, LA services and officers.
