Training and guidance for school staff is available as follows:
Informal day to day meetings and regular planning meetings with teachers/SENCO's as part of routine visits to schools/setting. School/Setting based INSET can be provided. This training usually takes place on training days or during staff meeting times.
Centrally delivered INSET courses.
All day courses are provided to a range of professionals including teachers and teaching assistants from mainstream and special schools. Course content centres on audition, language development, literacy, numeracy, classroom management and inclusion issues.
In addition:
We have very close links with parents and carers and have developed central courses as well as home-based contacts. These courses have an emphasis on early language development and are run throughout the year. Topics covered so far have been literacy, numeracy and ongoing language development.
Training sessions are routinely carried out with Health Visitors.
