Courses are held during the daytime and in the evenings.
The daytime courses are held at:
Collegiate House
College Street
Leicester
The evening courses are held at different venues, schools, community centres etc at convenient times.
All the courses run during school term times only.
The course aims to:
- provide support for parents
- use groupwork as a method of exploring issues
- encourage parents to participate and share with each other.
- Help parents to develop their own strategies to deal with behaviour issues
We recognise and acknowledge that parents are the experts with their ‘own’ children
Sessions will cover....
- understanding how we view children and young people
- developing strategies to use with own children/ young people
- listening skills
- coping strategies
- support networks
- follow on sessions

Some parents are required to attend the course as part of a Parenting Order. Some parents decide that they want to access the course themselves to gain support and help with parenting. Whatever the reason we want parents/carers to have a useful and enjoyable experience.
The courses are facilitated by Education Welfare Officers who are employed by Leicester City Council.
