Continuing Professional Development Opportunities
The continuing professional development opportunities are available for Leicester City’s childcare, early years workforce. We provide a programme of courses, which support the requirements within the Early Years Foundation Stage, the regulatory framework inspected by Ofsted.
In order to help childcare settings to plan staff development effectively, the courses are mapped, to indicate, where they link to the Common Core of Skills and Knowledge for the Children’s Workforce and supports the Five Outcomes for Children.
Each term a programme of the training on offer, for that term ahead, is sent out to provisions on the Early Years Register.
These courses are provided for Early Years Practitioners working in Leicester City, within an Ofsted Registered Early Years Setting.
EYFS and Quality Improvement courses are subsidised and only a small booking fee is required.
Statutory courses are offered by the Leicester City Council's Food Safety Group.
