Funding to support qualification training.
Funding is available to support qualifications training in Early Years through the Sure Start Grant. All levels of qualification can be supported if they are appropriate to an individuals training needs and job role, from introductory/foundation level qualifications to support for graduate programmes.
How can I apply?
Once you have identified the qualification course you want to do, contact the training provider/organisation for enrolment details, this process will include you being given an individual training grant application form. The form describes the information required for your application & you will need the endorsement of your training provider before you can return your application to the Recruitment, Training & Quality Team.
Applications are considered against set criteria, along with the priorities for workforce development in the city. If demand was to exceed funding available, applications would be taken to a panel to assess priorities for funding. You will receive a letter shortly after the term’s closing date for applications, informing you whether you have been successful in gaining funding towards your course.
Childminders/Approved home based carers can also benefit from funding to support qualification training.
It is advised that unit 1 of the Diploma in Home based Childcare (ICP) is undertaken as part of the Childminding registration process. You should seek advice from a registration advice officer for details of the training.
