Extended Services- Beyond the School Day

Core Offer

What is Extended Services?

Extended services is about providing information on a range of help, support and activities where you live.

 

Quality ChildCare:

  • This means high quality childcare 8am - 6pm
  • Year around care ('wraparound care')
  • Both types to be provided on the school site or through local providers with supervised transfer arrangements.

 

Community Access:

  • This means wider community access to ICT, sports and arts facilities including adult learning.

 

Swift and Easy Access:

  • Swift and Easy Access to a wide range of specialist support services such as speech therapy, child and adolescent mental health health services, intense behaviour support and (for young people) sexual health services. Some may be delivered on school sites.

 

Parent Support

  • Information sessions at key transition points

  • Parenting programmes run with the support of other children's services

  • Family learning sessions to allow children to learn with their parents.

 

Varied Menu of Activities

  • A varied menu of activities to be on offer such as homework clubs and study support, sport, music tuition dance and drama, arts and crafts special interest clubs, visits to museums and galleries, volunteering business and enterprise activities.
