Leicester Libraries is a key supporter and partner of choice for the health and social care sectors. The following Health & Well-Being information and support is available at your local library:

 

  • Events, workshops and activities, including health awareness events and opportunities to learn new skills

  • Self-help books and feel-good fiction

  • Signposting by trained staff to relevant services in the city

  • Assisted access to online health information and other services

  • Home Library Service, bringing library services to the housebound and transport to and from libraries for anyone with mobility problems

  • Large print books, talking books, sound recordings and health/exercise DVDs

  • Reading Groups

  • Free computer and Internet access

  • UK Online Centres at seven libraries offering computer courses for beginners

  • A neutral informal community space for health and social care partners to use to engage the city's diverse communities

  • Volunteering opportunities
