Leicester Libraries have introduced small book loan collections for parents and toddlers at a number of Sure Start Children's Centres. See links below for opening times and contact details.
You can join and borrow books for free at Sure Start Children's Centres, which means you automatically become a member of Leicester Libraries and can use any library, Sure Start Children's Centre or Book Bus throughout the city. More information about 'How it works' below.
How it works:
- If you are not already a library member, you can join at any Children’s Centre, and may use your new card at any Leicester Library as well.
- You can borrow from up to 12 books from Leicester Libraries, plus four books from Children’s Centres at any one time.
- Children’s Centre Book loan periods = 3 weeks
- Loan limits = 4 items (plus standard Leicester Library loan limits)
- Renewals = 3
- No reservations
- No charges
- No overdue notices
- No financial transactions

Returns:
- Returns (1) – Children’s Centre items may be returned to any Children's Centre, but may not be returned to Leicester Libraries.
- Returns (2) - Leicester Library items may be returned to any Leicester Library, but may not be returned to Children’s Centres.

The service at Children's Centres is designed to give you the easiest possible access to books. There are great books at the centres, but we hope you will also make use of the full range of Leicester Library services within your local library.
