The Role:
Home Library Service Volunteer
Located throughout Leicester Library Service
Enhanced CRB check will be undertaken
Suitable for people interested in helping others, books, reading, and libraries.
Work hours are mornings or afternoons (approximately 2 hour sessions), Monday to Friday.
The Aim:
To provide access to library services for people who cannot visit their local library independently.
Volunteers work alongside library staff and other volunteers,
taking books to people in their own homes, sheltered accommodation and residential homes and support library minibus users at local libraries.
Skills and experience:
A positive cheerful person with good listening skills who is able to relate to people well and is willing to talk to and engage people about their reading and listening needs. Be willing to work in a team. Drivers with vehicle access are always needed.
