The Common Assessment Framework (CAF) Information Team
Supporting Better Futures for Children, Young People and Families in Leicester.
The CAF Team is for children, young people and families who need extra help at the right time. We aim to make getting advice and support easier and, in the long term, improve services, by helping to ensure all agencies (including schools, health, youth work and social care services) work together.
In order to do this the CAF Team (formerly part of Bridges) has set up ways of safely sharing information, and using the CAF (Common Assessment Framework)
They will:
- Strengthen the way services are provided for children and young people that need help.
- Support agencies in using the CAF process.
- Help to identify where a CAF might be appropriate.
- Make it easier to share information - so avoiding the need to repeatedly give the same information.
They have responsibility for:
- Administering/updating the Common Assessment Framework (CAF) Database.
- Taking/recording “Intents to CAF” and completing checks on the CAF Database and with other Services to see if there is Responsive Safeguarding (Tier 3/4) involvement.
- Giving advice and guidance on CAF related matters.
- Providing CAF Awareness Training.
- Building links and integrated working across the City on the CAF process.
