Talk matters! News - Father and Son reading newspaper

 The Talk matters! team will making talk matter on Friday 10th September 2010, Humberstone Gate between 10am - 4pm for the very first Talk matters! Day in Leicester. Joining us will be I Can the national charity that helps children's language and communication skills.

 

There will be free face painting, advice from local speech and language therapists, free magic show and a free communications goody bag.

 

Look out for speech and communications activities at your local Sure Start Children's Centre on the 10th September.

A new Post-Graduate Certificate course aimed at both teachers and speech therapists,  is being designed. It will provide a sound theoretical background in language development, linked with enjoyable and practical ideas to use with children and their families. 

 

The course will be taught by specialist staff from Leicester and De Montfort Universities.  Held at Leicester, the seven taught days are spread across the academic year, and include two Saturdays (9 a.m to 2 p.m)
