ICT links for the Year 6 booster classesThese links have been developed by ICT and Numeracy consultants from the LEA. The purpose of these documents is to provide links to ICT activities, mainly on the Internet, that can enhance learning and provide fun activities to support the learning objectives of the Booster classes.
The documents are in PDF format
1. Numeracy Booster – links to Internet sites for children’s activities and ITP’s (Interactive teaching programs) that may be useful to the teacher delivering the lessons.
2. Numeracy Booster lesson links for the children to use so that they can link to the sites via the document rather than having to type in the web address.
The Numeracy Booster links are laid out in table form, with suggestions for activities for each lesson. Where there are no suggestions for ICT, at the end of each document there are a number of websites suggested that provide general Numeracy ICT activities.
These suggested activities could either be used after the particular lesson or could be used independently at another time. Most of the activities come with instructions so that children should be able to access them independently. However, the teacher should look at the activity beforehand to ensure that it is suitable for their children. Some of the games are for pairs of players so children could work in pairs on activities.
The documents should be saved on the school network in a shared area that can be accessed by all users.
