Two boxes are available for hire; both boxes contain most of the artefacts listed below.
The Five Ks
Kara – bangle
Kangha – comb
Kirpan & sash – knife
Kaccha – undershorts
Kesh – uncut hair ~ represented by the turban and the rumal which is used to cover a boy’s hair when in a “topknot”
Khanda ~ symbol of Sikhism
Ek Onkar ~ “There is only one God”
Vaisakhi badge
Greeting’s card – Guru Nanak’s birthday
Nishan Sahib – flag ~ a large version flies outside the Gurdwara and is replaced each year at Vaisakhi
Romalla – cloth for wrapping Sacred texts:
a) Hymns of Guru Nanak
b) Jap Ji (Morning prayer)
c) Sacred Sukhmani
d) Sacred Nitnem
Chauri – whisk waved over the Guru Granth Sahib
Amrit bowl & kirpan ~ used in the initiation ceremony
Punjabi suit –shalwar (trousers), kameez (blouse) & dupatta (scarf) worn by girls and women
