Leicester City Council's Young People's Charter

Welcome to the city’s first ‘Young People’s Charter’ for Leicester city.

So what is a Young People’s Charter?

It is a document that tells young people what their rights and responsibilities are as members of Leicester City’s communities and also what young people can expect from the services that they access, like schools, youth centres, doctors etc.

It is a way of showing young people that Leicester City Council is committed to ensuring that young people are entitled to:

  • Be Healthy
  • Stay Safe
  • Enjoy and Achieve
  • Make a Positive Contribution
  • Achieve Economic Wellbeing

This is an important first step in ensuring young people are aware of their entitlement to services in the city.

A formal signing and acceptance ceremony will take place within the City’s Town Hall. There will be a certificate to be officially co-signed by the Youth MP, the Lord Mayor and the Corporate Director of Children and Young People’s Services.
