Volunteers in the Youth Service

Leicester City Council has a number of opportunities for adults who would like to be involved in working with young people in different contexts.

 

The Service prioritises the 13-19 age group and works in partnership with the voluntary sector to deliver quality opportunities in centres within local projects.

 

The opportunities will be diverse, from work within sports, arts and leisure, through residential and outdoor activities and international experiences.

 

Accreditation schemes are followed such as Duke of Edinburgh's Award, Achievement Award and Getting Connected Accreditation Award.

 

Training is provided alongside part-time staff at NVQ Level 3 are compulsory.  There are also opportunities for young people who would like to become involved with individual project, act as peer helpers or who would like to be part of Area Young Peoples Forums.
