Leicester City Youth Opportunity and
Youth Capital Fund 2010/2011
The government has given Leicester two exciting funds designed to enable young people to become actively involved in funding and running activities and facilities in their area.
Youth Opportunity Fund
This financial year the fund is giving £350,000 to Leicester to be used for things young people would like to do and places they would like to go in their area.
Youth Capital Fund
This financial year the fund is giving £208,000 to Leicester. This fund can be used to help change and improve existing youth premises or to create new local facilities.
These two funds have been designed to work together, so you can use the YOF for an activity (project) and use the YCF to improve premises and buy any equipment needed to run the project.
Thematic Fund: Looked after young people and Young Carers
This year there is an additional pot of £100,000 available to projects benefiting looked after young people or young carers. This money can be used to pay for things to do and places to go. Please note it cannot be used to pay for capital items or buildings. Please apply on the same application form, but as a separate bid.
All Leicester City Council Projects must complete and submit an approvals form with their application
The deadline for all applications is 4pm on 17th April 2010 and no applications received after this date will be considered.
