Dangerous Dogs

The Dog Warden Service will respond to dangerous dog complaints, contacting the person who complains on the same day for full details of the incident.

Incidents regarding a person being bitten should be reported to the Police.

The Dog Warden will contact the dog owner (if known) to advise them of the incident and of the possible legal action that may be taken against them. We may also need to liaise with the Police. The owner will then be written to regarding the incident and dangerous dog legislation.

If the dog is captured while it is straying it will be taken to our kennelling provider.

If you have any complaints or queries about dangerous dogs, please contact our Customer Service Line
