A course booklet will be provided to you but it may help to bring some paper  and a pen to make your own notes.

You must also ensure that you bring some photographic ID.

It is a requirement of the awarding body that candidates show photographic identification on the day of the exam. This can be in the form of Works Id, passport, driving licence, students id, bus pass etc. If you have no photographic identification then a photograph must be endorsed by a professional person to confirm the identity.

Is there a test and what will it be like?

On Level 2 courses there is a multiple choice test which involves reading the question and a choice of answers and making a decision on which is the correct answer.

You will not be expected to write long sentences but you will need to be able to read the test paper.

On other level courses this procedure is different so when making your booking ask for more information.

If I can't read very well or I am dyslexic can I get some help?

Yes. When booking your place either say over the phone or put this on the enrolment form. You will also be asked on the day of the course if you need any help with reading the test paper.

What do I have to wear?

The dress code is smart casual for all courses. We recommend that for first aid courses trousers are worn due to the practical nature of the course.

Are drinks or food provided?

Drinks are provided on all courses but lunches are only provided on Level 3 and Level 4 courses. There are plenty of food shops in the city centre where you can buy food or you are welcome to bring your own packed lunch with you.

What happens if I don't pass?

All courses differ but mainly you are allowed to resit the test once after you have failed the first time. There is an extra fee for this that varies from course to course. If this happens you will be given all this information.
