Leicester City Council has been made aware by the Local Government Association that the Information Commissioner has now issued Guidance (16 July 2009). The City Council notes that the Guidance is not to be interpreted as giving legal advice. The Council is now awaiting the outcome of legal opinion being obtained by the Local Government Association.
Property search information will remain available to search companies under our existing charging regime prepared by the Council on the 6th April 2009 in accordance with the Local Authorities (England) (Charges for Property Searches) Regulations 2008.
