What is a Local Authority Search?
A Local Authority Search consists of two components:
- A search of the Local Land Charges Register (LLC1) which reveals any Local Land Charge registrations against the property in question.
- Enquiries of local authorities which is made up of a required component (CON29R) and an optional component (CON29O)
How to request a Local Authority Search
Please check that the property is within the boundaries of Leicester City Council by locating it on our City Streatz mapping system.
In order to make it easier for people to submit searches we now have a shortened version of the LLC1 and Con29 forms available to download. Please click on either the PDF or Word version at the bottom of this page.
You can submit your application in a variety of ways:

Please also include a written undertaking to place a cheque for the required fee in the post or DX. If requested we can return your search via email as a pdf document.
