Local Land Charges: Personal Searches

What is a Personal Search/EIR?

A Personal Search is an inspection in person of the Local Land Charges Register. Any entries on the Personal Search of the register must be noted by the search agent and the printout returned to the Land Charges staff.

The Personal Search Agent may also wish to gather information required to complete the Con29R form. This information can be supplied under EIR. We do not offer the facility to cherrypick questions.

To request it please contact Land Charges on the numbers given below. It is 'view only' and can not be emailed.

EIR information will consist of information from our seven feeder departments where there is no public access available. The agent will then need to compile the search themselves.

Usually personal searches are carried out by companies acting on behalf of a solicitor, however they can also be carried out by members of the public. Access is arranged via an appointment system and we require 48 hours notice for the personal search. Timescales to provide the Con29 data under EIR may vary.
