Cathedral-Guildhall Conservation Area

Leicester Guildhall

The Cathedral-Guildhall Conservation Area was designated in March 1969. It was one of the first three conservation areas to be declared in Leicester (the others being Castle Gardens and New Walk). The conservation area is centred on the Cathedral, and includes Friar Lane and Guildhall Lane.

In November 2006, a Character Appraisal was produced. At this time, the boundary of the conservation area was amended slightly, and the area is now approximately 5.37 hectares.

You can view a map of the Cathedral-Guildhall Conservation Area.
