The Evington Footpath Conservation Area was declared in January 1981, and has an area of approximately 7.01 hectares. The area is bounded by London Road, Evington Road and Mayfield Road. The Council has prepared a Character Appraisal for the Conservation Area, as part of a programme covering all conservation areas in the city.

Some properties in this conservation area are covered by an Article Four Direction, which limits the rights of householders to carry out work to their properties without planning permission.
