Hamilton is located in the north-east of Leicester and is one of two major ‘Urban Extensions’ in the City.
Development at Hamilton began in the late 1980s and almost 1,500 houses have now been completed. Eventually, over 3,000 houses will be provided to meet the future housing needs of the City. This is likely to take a further 8-10 years.
Developments in the area have contributed towards the provision of leisure and community facilities, improvements to public transport and also additional educational facilities. Most of the community facilities are located at Hamilton District Centre. Further facilities are planned once the remaining parts of Hamilton are developed.
