You can view Leicester City Council's Planning Database on-line. This contains over 125,000 planning application records
since 1948. You can also view records of Planning Appeals
and Enforcement Notices
You can also search for planning applications using the Council's CityStreAtZ mapping system. This allows you to search for an address using the maps, and then link to the Planning Database to view applications etc:
On most recent planning applications, the Planning Applications Database allows you to view Planning Documents, including submitted plans and application forms. These documents are available through our 'File Director' web browser: you can read some Instructions on using File Director.
The Planning Applications Database also gives access to our on-line library of Decision Notices; virtually all planning decision notices since 1948 are available to view on our system.
You can search each database by Reference Number, Address, Proposal keyword, and various other fields. You can query the system for a range of dates received and determined or resolved. Each of the Search Screens includes HELP in entering the fields. Click the HELP icon next to each field name.
The Database is updated at regular intervals, usually daily. You can therefore monitor progress of individual applications or appeals. To establish the current status of any live case, or for additional information on any case, you can also contact Planning. Note that the Database includes recent applications that have not yet been validated and "booked in": the period for publicity and public comment doesn't begin until the Date Complete/Valid field is entered on the planning application Details screen.
