You can read general information about Mobile Phone Masts and the Planning system on the Planning Portal web site. The Government has produced planning guidance on telecommunications development. Go to the Communities and Local Government web site.
Most minor telecommunications development does not require express planning permission as it is granted planning permission under the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995, as amended, (GPDO). To discuss whether telecommunications development may require express planning permission, please contact Planning.
The Government's Office of Communications (Ofcom) has a national database of mobile phone base stations. The locations of these are displayed on the Agency's Sitefinder website.
On this web site, you can view lists of planning applications received for telecommunications development.
