There was public consultation on a Draft Statement of Community Involvement from 29 July to 9 September 2005. Details of this and earlier consultation are set out in the Statement of Consultation.

The SCI Submission Document was submitted to the Secretary of State on 28 November 2005.

Comments made on the Submission Draft SCI are set out in the Responses Received document.

The SCI was examined by an independent Planning Inspector to determine if it is 'sound'. The final Inspector's Report was received by the Council on 7th July 2006. The Inspector's recommendations were binding on the Council.

The Statement of Community Involvement was adopted on 28 September 2006.
