The City of Leicester Local Plan was adopted by the Council on 16 January 2006 and will provide planning guidance for the City up to 2016. The printed version of the Adopted Proposals Map is only available to purchase with the Written Statement .
A digital version of the Proposals Map can now be viewed (for information purposes only) using the new version of our mapping system - City StreAtZ.
NB. If you use a pop-up blocker in your browser you will need to allow ALL pop-ups from this site to extract information from the maps (as it is a new website and settings have to be re-associated)
It is recommended that you read the CityStreAtZ help file pdf , below to fully benefit from all the map sets and tools available.
If you encounter problems using the new version please send details of your browser type, browser version and any error messages to :-
information-services@leicester.gov.uk
Whilst these are being investigated the maps are still available on the
OLD version of CityStreAtZ
The link above starts the CityStreAtZ vers2 mapping system with the Adopted Local Plan map set selected. The basic Land Allocations are displayed, in colour, by layer.
You can search for any property or site by address, postcode or building name.
To identify CLLP Allocations :- Sites of interest can be queried by using the information tool. All the Land Allocations (specific to that point within the site) will then be listed.
As allocations can relate to either a part, the whole or more than your specific site, you must use the information tool to click on the map, either side of any coloured boundary crossing your site. Just clicking once within the centre of the site will only return information for that point.
A pop up will appear (NB these must be allowed in your browser) with the relevant Local Plan Allocation(s) and associated Policy title(s) & Policy No(s). Follow links from these to get full Policy details.
To view specific Allocations
Any combination of the Land Allocations can be switched on/off. The initial map set loads up with the SINC Allocation and BES Allocation layers switched off (as in the final printed version these had their own separate map). To view these they will have to be switched on.
If you wish to view a map of a particular allocation or set of allocations then
- Select the Map-Layers tab
- Click on the 'Select None' button
- Highlight the allocation(s) of interest whilst holding Ctl
- Click on the 'Redraw' button
General note
The Proposals Map should be read in conjunction with the Written Statement. The Map's database contains appropriate reference numbers for specific policies or proposals affecting individual sites or areas. These have to be accessed via the 'Information Tool' supplied with the system. Sites and properties will often be affected by a number of policies or proposals. In such instances the policies and proposals should be read together: equal weight being attached. All policies apply equally during the whole plan period. Should any discrepancy appear between the Written Statement and the Proposals Map, the former will have precedence.
