The Planning Policy Team is responsible for the preparation of all statutory land use plans covering the city, including the City of Leicester Local Plan and the City's Local Development Framework.

- Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs) are produced to augment the Local Plan and eventually Local Development Documents.

Supplementary Planning Guidance (SPG) were previously produced by the Group under the earlier plan-making system..
- Annual surveys of land availability for employment and housing land, schedules of which are available.
- A statistical information service for the Council, particularly relating to the Census and related population statistics.
