Possible sites for hotel development

Here are some guidelines relating to the siting of new hotel development within Leicester.

SITES IDENTIFIED IN THE CITY OF LEICESTER LOCAL PLAN 2006

• The Central Office Core (New Business Quarter): Policy PS05.

• Granby Halls Potential Development Area: Policy PS09.

• St Augustine’s Road Potential Development Area: Policy PS09.

SITE DEVELOPMENT GUIDANCE

• Abbey Meadows SPD 2007: A hotel would be acceptable on Wolsey Island.

• Granby Halls Planning Brief: Approved in November 1996. The brief states that a hotel could be acceptable if a scheme could be designed in such a way that environmental problems associated with the location are overcome. Car parking levels will be restricted.
