Following adoption of the Waste Core Strategy, the Leicestershire County Council and Leicester City Council have now prepared a Joint Waste Site Allocations Document. In early 2010 the Councils asked waste operators, waste agents and landowners to supply information on land they wished to be considered for use for future waste management. All the submitted information and plans can be viewed via the following link - Waste Sites for Consideration. A limited consultation on all the sites put forward for consideration was undertaken and following this the sites were assessed. A summary of the responses received up to and including 1 November 2010 can be seen via the following link - Summary of Responses on Waste Sites for Potential Allocation. The timetable for the production of the Waste Site Allocations document can be viewed below.
Following assessment, the pre-submission version of the site allocations document was produced along with the sustainability appraisal report of the document and an updated version of the Waste Needs Assessment.
Current Consultation
Consultation on the Waste Site Allocations document will run from 7th February 2011 until 5pm on 21st March 2011. The documents can be viewed below.
