Applications for government-funded regeneration programmes are sponsored and co-ordinated by the city council and its partnership agencies. Some of these are listed below:
Prospect Leicestershire
As of April 2009 Leicester Regeneration Company merged with the Leicester Shire Economic Partnership to form Prospect Leicestershire.
Leicester Regeneration Company (LRC)
Leicester Regeneration Company (LRC) was set up in 2001 to encourage the economic and physical development of Leicester. It was funded and supported by the East Midlands Development Agency, Leicester City Council and English Partnerships.
Leicester Regeneration Company worked to promote the redevelopment of areas in Leicester. Its mission was to improve the image and environment of the city, and to further its economic prosperity.
Leicester Shire Economic Partnership (LSEP)
The LSEP – which comprised key players from the public, private and voluntary sectors – was responsible for a major development agenda for the city and the county working in partnership with the East Midlands Development Agency (EMDA)* .
Leicester Partnership Against Crime And Disorder
A three-year strategy 2003 - 2006 for tackling crime in Leicester was developed by the Leicester Partnership Against Crime and Disorder. Its priorities included reducing levels of violent crime, improving support for victims of crime, initiatives to address anti-social behaviour and action to combat drugrelated crime.
The strategy also aims to tackle domestic violence and reduce incidents of racial harassment. The Home Office will provide £144,000 during the 2003, with a further £900,000 from the Neighbourhood Renewal Fund over the next two years.

Leicester Partnership
The Leicester Partnership was formed in 2001, bringing together 24 key decision makers and community representatives. It aims to tackle local crime, health, housing, employment and education issues in a co-ordinated way – improving neighbourhoods, public services and the quality of life for local people.

Sustainable Economic Partnership (SEP)
The SEP exists to drive forward the regeneration of Leicester and improve the city's image and environment. Its website is designed to provide users with a clear picture of the city as well as what actions are curently being undertaken to improve its economy, its infastructure and the future well being of its residents.
