Introductory Tenancies

All new Leicester City Council tenants enter into an Introductory Tenancy that normally lasts for 12 months.

Assuming that the first year of the tenancy runs smoothly and without incident, an Introductory Tenant will automatically become a Secure Tenant after a period of 12 months. However, if any proceedings are issued during the Introductory Tenancy agreement this trial period may be extended. In extreme cases the tenant can be evicted.

Further information about Introductory Tenancies is available from your local neighbourhood housing office.
