Claim online
To claim Housing or Council Tax Benefit, you can complete an online application form. When you have completed the form, you will be asked to print, sign and send a declaration to us with your supporting documents, (if you do not have a printer we can send you the declaration).
You can take your declaration and supporting documents to any of our Customer Service Centres or bring them to the Revenue and Benefit Service at Wellington House
Visiting Wellington House
If you come to our Wellington Street reception, we guarantee to make a decision on your claim within 24 hours of you handing in the signed declaration and all the information we need. Please make sure that you tell the reception staff that you want to see a New Claims Officer. We will try to see you as quickly as possible.
If you haven't got all the required information, you can make an appointment to return with the necessary information.
If you are housebound or elderly, we have a welfare visiting service to help you complete the form at home and verify your supporting information. To request this service, please call 0116 252 7006. You will need to tell us if you need help completing the on-line claim form or a paper form.
