If you are in a Same Sex Partnership

You may be aware that there was a change in the law  from 5th December 2005 when Civil Partnerships were introduced.

This is a change in law which means that two people of the same sex can form a legal partnership (Civil Partnership). Civil partners will have equal treatment in a wide range of legal matters the same as married couples and this includes benefits.

Housing Benefit will require that same sex couples complete Application Forms indicating that they are a couple and provide proof of both partners' income and identity.
