Route Histories was commissioned by Leicester City Council to mark the completion of the Waterside Sanvey Gate Junction Improvement Project, delivered in partnership with the Department for Local Communities and Government and the Homes and Communities Agency.
The artwork, Route Histories, was created by artist Helen Saunders, who uses a method of digital photo-collage to explore and transform our everyday surroundings. For this commission, she created a photographic collage celebrating Leicester's riverside, green spaces and key buildings, between Bede Park and Abbey Park. See more of Helen's work at http://www.helensaunders.co.uk/
The theme for the artwork was inspired by suggestions from the Woodgate Residents Association and Fosse Arts.
The images above show the site after and before installation, respectively.
