Music on the Park

Riverside Festival’s reputation for great music and for showcasing some of the best local talent looks set to continue this year with a fantastic line up.

Saturday


12.30pm – 1.15pm

OBS Runners Up

Leicester’s Original Band Showcase runs from March to May at The Musician. 40 bands take part through a series of heats, semi - finals and a grand final on 19th May. Finishing ‘runner up’ out of 40 bands is a superb
achievement and worthy of performing the opening set at this year’s Festival.

1.45pm – 2.30pm

Mick Ridgway’s Mojo Hand

Leicester has a thriving rhythm and blues scene with some great bands playing regularly in the city, Mick Ridgway’s Mojo Hand are one of the best in the business.

3.00pm – 3.45pm

Resin

Hinckley based band making big waves on the Leicester gig scene. Classic retro – rock with distinctive delivery have gained Resin a solid fan base and rising profile.

4.15pm – 5.00pm

OBS Winners

After 12 heats and 40 bands, the 2012 Original Band Showcase winner will be
playing the main stage.

5.30pm – 7.00pm

Counter Action

Counter Action are this year’s festival headliners and bring their roots reggae
show to Riverside. Part of the Richi Rootz tribute event that takes place at The Music Café later in the evening.

Sunday


1.00pm – 1.45pm

Paddywax

Lively acoustic band playing Irish and contemporary songs and tunes.

2.00pm – 3.00pm

Sing for Water

Annual charity performance for Water Aid,featuring choirs and singers from around Leicester.

3.00pm – 4.00pm

Martha Bean Band

Martha has been making waves on the Leicester acoustic scene for some time.
Her latest release, ’The State Of The Art’ EP, has received great reviews. This will be a rare Martha performance with a full band.

4.00pm – 5.00pm

The Paradimes

Good time sunshine reggae with great songs and musicians. The perfect way to round off Riverside and to leave with a smile.

Acoustic Tent

Featuring live acoustic sets from top local musicians, hosted by Dusk 2 Dawn.

Tales of the Riverside (Festival Fringe)

Great live music in venues across Braunstone Gate. For further details on the
